A quick update on the latest Catch Music activities: April 2009...
Leederville Jam Session – First Gig!
The guys and girls who’ve been coming to the Leederville Jam Session on Tuesday nights are playing their first gig! The band is performing a selection of songs at the Rocky Bay Nursing Home, 60 McCabe St, Mosman Park, this Tuesday 7th April, at 7:00pm. The line-up includes songs by Coldplay, the Corrs, Abba, and the Beatles. If you’re free, it would be great to have the support of a few extra groupies, and if you’re new to Catch Music and interested in the Tuesday jam sessions, it would be a perfect opportunity to come and meet the crew.

Catch Music for Kids
Do you know any kids who love music? On Saturday 9th May, at 10:00am, at the Loftus Community Centre, 99 Loftus St, Leederville, Catch Music is holding an information session for parents of primary-school-aged children who are interested in introducing their kids to music. The Catch Music team has developed plans for an inclusive music program for young children, and is keen to meet families who would like to take part.

Group Trip to Funkalleros
Anyone out there love fast, funky, urban, afro-cuban latin grooves?! The Catch Music team can’t wait to see the Funkalleros on Sunday 19th April, at 5:00pm, at a free outdoor concert in Cross Park, Roleystone. If you feel like coming along, or know someone else who might, get in touch and we’ll see if we can organise a group. And if you need help with transport, we’ll see if we can put you in touch with someone else who’s going.

Swing Style Sing
Catch Music is starting a singing group on Tuesday afternoons in Brentwood, especially for folks who love older-style songs and swing tunes. A small group of singers are already meeting after lunch on Tuesdays, and we’re looking for more people to join in the fun. Anyone who’s interested should come to an information session on Tuesday 28th April, at 2:00pm, at the Blue Gum Community Centre, 33 Moolyeen Rd, Brentwood.
