DJ-ing Workshops and Jam Session
Catch Music and the City of Gosnells have joined forces to start an ongoing DJ-ing program and jam session in Canning Vale. The Amherst Village Recreation Centre is a new facility in Canning Vale which has a youth centre and recording studio. Earlier in the year the City of Gosnells approached Catch Music about running some youth-focused inclusive music activities once the building opened, and we jumped at the chance! The details are...

when: 4:00pm to 5:30pm, weekly on Wednesday afternoons, aiming to start 29th July 2009

Catch Music for Kids
Given the great turn-out we had at our “Catch Music for Kids” info session last month, Catch Music is pressing ahead and starting a program for young kids aged 5 to 8 years old. The goals of the program are to: provide an opportunity for young kids to explore music; help them work out if they want to take music lessons in the future; build skills in socialising and music making; and have fun! Parents and siblings are welcome to join in the activities, or drop off their kids and come back at the end of the session. The details are...

CD Recording Project
Our CD proposal was successful! Earlier in the year Catch Music submitted an application to the Community Arts Network of WA for a CD recording project, to bring together ten different bands or community music groups from across Perth, to produce an inspirational CD of ten creative cover tracks that promote positive messages on the theme of community. The next step now is for us to select the ten different bands or community music groups, so if you know of any groups that might be interested, please let us know!
