The Story of Catch Music (2011 Short Film)

Established in 2007, Catch Music exists to create opportunities for music-lovers of all ages, abilities and backgrounds in Western Australia. This short documentary charts its early years of activity, when Tim Roberton and a group of musicians decided to book a space to host the first session. Many of the participants who attended continue to do so until this day.

Catch Music is pleased to present a workshop with experienced vocalist and musician Wren Bethan.  In this workshop you will learn how to use the voice in a band setting. The workshop will finish with a group session applying the techniques learnt. Catch Music presents FAR & BEYOND a showcase of new songs written at our sessions. Join us at the Shenton Park Community Centre for an afternoon of stories, music, and inclusion. With a special set from ARIA and APRA award-winning songwriter, Steve Parkin! Entry by donation ___ Catch Music VICTORIA unveils a new original song among beloved covers. Catch Music MIDLAND combines literary prowess with highly sophisticated vocal and instrumental arrangements. Steve Parkin is a two-time ARIA and APRA award-winning songwriter and performer based in Perth, Western Australia. A mainstay of both the WA and national music scene for nearly 20 years, he began his musical career with successful local Perth bands of the late’90’s/early’00’s Vinyl and (Triple J fave) Autopilot. He has gone on to release three solo LP’s, and several solo EP’s. He’s featured as session player for many acts and on many records, notably as lead guitarist/keys/backing vocals in Bob Evans’ touring band.
