Position Description – Session Volunteer
OVERVIEW
The Session Volunteer assists the Music Facilitator (MF) within the session.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
- Regularly attending the Catch Music Sessions and assisting as required – e.g. setting up and packing away PA and other music equipment.
- Helping new members feel welcomed and comfortable in the group.
- Assisting with collection of attendance statistics and session fees.
- Supporting individual participants to interact meaningfully in the session – e.g. assisting a participant to play chords on a guitar or keep in time on a percussion instrument.
SKILLS AND QUALITIES
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to warmly engage with group participants.
- A genuine desire to see music being enjoyed by all members of the community no matter what age or ability.
- Some musical ability on at least one instrument
